Taxonomy
Buccinum prysmaticum was named by Brocchi (1814). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Nassa prismatica by Wood (1848) and Wood (1879); it was recombined as Nassarius prysmaticus by Landau et al. (2009).
