Taxonomy
Notoblattites subcostalis was named by Tillyard (1916). Its type specimen is GSQI25, a tegmen, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Carrington Brick Company's clay pit, St Peter's (Dunstan collection), which is in a Pelsonian/Illyrian pond claystone in the Ashfield Shales Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Notoblattites.
