Taxonomy
Malluviospongia densa was named by Rigby and Goodbody (1986). It is not extant. Its type locality is 83A, Baad Fiord, Ellesmere, which is in an Eifelian perireef or subreef limestone/shale in the Bird Fiord Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Malluviospongia.
