Pileospongia lopados

Taxonomy
Pileospongia lopados was named by Rigby et al. (1979). It is not extant. Its type locality is IU 14623 Weeden-Madkin Mts., Huntsville, which is in a Mississippian marine limestone in the Monteagle Limestone Formation of Alabama. It is the type species of Pileospongia.
