Sycopteron symmetricum

Sycopteron symmetrica was named by Bolton (1917). Its type specimen is Manchester Museum L 5.559, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Commentry (Mark Stirrup coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic mudstone in the Commentry Shales Formation of France. It is the type species of Sycopteron.

It was corrected as Sycopteron symmetricum by Tillyard (1918).
