Rhynchonella wangenheimi was named by Pander (1862).
It was recombined as Uncinulus wangenheimi by Tschernyschew (1902); it was recombined as Anchorhynchia wangenheimi by Shen and Shi (2007); it was recombined as Uncinunellina wangenheimi by Glushenko (1975), Liao (1979), Li et al. (1986) and Tazawa and Shintani (2014).
It was recombined as Uncinulus wangenheimi by Tschernyschew (1902); it was recombined as Anchorhynchia wangenheimi by Shen and Shi (2007); it was recombined as Uncinunellina wangenheimi by Glushenko (1975), Liao (1979), Li et al. (1986) and Tazawa and Shintani (2014).
