Taxonomy
Spirifer jigulensis was named by Stuckenberg (1898).

It was recombined as Choristites jigulensis by Ustritsky and Chernyak (1963), Liao (1979) and Jin et al. (1985); it was recombined as Larispirifer jigulensis by Chen and Shi (2006).
