Daguinaspis was named by Hupe and Abadie (1950) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Atda-l Sepkoski's reference number: 473,885]. It is not extant. Its type is Daguinaspis ambroggii.
It was assigned to Daguinaspidinae by Palmer and Repina (1993) and Geyer (1996); to Fallotaspididae by Whittington et al. (1997); and to Olenellida by Sepkoski (2002).
