Taxonomy
Chonetella distorta was named by Liao (1987). Its type specimen is NIGP 93331 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Matan Section Act475, Heshan, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Heshan Formation of China.
