Taxonomy
Gefonia levis was named by Licharew (1936) [Gefonia cuvanica var. levis]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Severnaya Balka, 1 km from mouth, P2a horizon, north Caucasus, which is in a Changhsingian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.
