Taxonomy
Lobeatta schneideri was named by Béthoux (2005). Its type specimen is ROM 45568, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Mazon Creek (ROM collection), which is in a Westphalian D deltaic mudstone in the Carbondale Formation of Illinois. It is the type species of Lobeatta.
