Taxonomy
Rostranteris sulcatum was named by Cooper (1957). Its type specimen is USNM 125410 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is S41, 3.75 miles N of Sherman Ranch, Grindstone-Twelvemile Creek area, which is in a Kungurian marine limestone/sandstone in the Coyote Butte Formation of Oregon.
