Taxonomy
Stenopoceras abundum was named by Miller and Thomas (1936). Its type specimen is SUI 1164-70 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gilmore Canyon, Stenopoceras beds, 8 miles SE of Laramie, which is in an Asselian marine limestone in the Casper Formation of Wyoming.
