Taxonomy
Stenopoceras cooperi was named by Miller and Unklesbay (1942). Its type specimen is SUI 2120 and is a mold. Its type locality is Grenola, Highway 160 at Cowley-Elk County Line, which is in an Asselian coastal shale in the Neva Formation of Kansas.
