Taxonomy
Stenopoceras inexpectans was named by Miller (1945). Its type specimen is USNM 111622 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM702a, Split Tank, Glass Mountains, which is in a Kungurian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Cathedral Mountain Formation of Texas.
