Taxonomy
Solenochilus kempae was named by Miller and Youngquist (1949). Its type specimen is CU 18061 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Seymour, 10 miles southeast, which is in a Kungurian marine siliciclastic in the Lueders Formation of Texas.
