Protoavis texensis
Taxonomy
Protoavis texensis was named by Chatterjee (1991). Its type specimen is TTU P 9200, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Miller's Ranch Quarry, which is in a Norian floodplain mudstone/sandstone in the Cooper Canyon Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Protoavis.
