Taxonomy
Rectifenestella compacta was named by Morozova (1986). Its type specimen is PIN 3947/179 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kazakova River, Outcrop 1972-4, Novaya Zemlya, which is in a Roadian marine horizon in the Savina Formation of the Russian Federation.
