Onaraspis was named by Opik (1967) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tojo Sepkoski's reference number: 16,923]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Redlichiida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Metadoxididae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
