Taxonomy
Fenestrellina expansa was named by Crockford (1946). Its type specimen is UQ F7956A and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lakes Creek Quarry, Rockhampton, which is in a Kungurian carbonate limestone in the Berserker Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Levifenestella expansa by Wass (1968) and Morozova (2001); it was recombined as Rectifenestella expansa by Morozova (2004).
