Parayinites was named by Zhang et al. (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Boto-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Parayinites spinosus.

It was assigned to Yinitidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Redlichiida by Sepkoski (2002).
