Taxonomy
Gyrophiceras subplicatum was named by Zakharov and Mu (2007). Its type specimen is NIGP 140025 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wenjiangsi Section, Triassic Beds 16-21, Guiding, which is in a Griesbachian carbonate limestone in the Daye Formation of China.
