Taxonomy
Euphemitopsis kitakamiensis was named by Murata (1969). Its type specimen is IGPS 91360 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kitazawa (Middle), Toyoma-cho, Tome-gun, Miyagi Prefecture, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine mudstone in the Toyoma Formation of Japan.
