Taxonomy
Limipecten bandoi was named by Murata (1969). Its type specimen is IGPS 91384 and is a mold. Its type locality is Nagahata, Towa-cho, Tome-gun, Miyagi Prefecture, which is in a Wuchiapingian marine mudstone in the Toyoma Formation of Japan.
