Taxonomy
Cupes manifestus was named by Kirejtshuk et al. (2010). Its type specimen is MNT-06-902, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Menat (MNT collection), which is in a Selandian crater lake diatomite in the Menat Formation of France.
