Taxonomy
Lestes lutzi was named by Nel and Paicheler (1994). Its type specimen is Coll Lutz Od. 1, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Céreste (Lutz NHMM coll), which is in a MP 23 lacustrine carbonate in the Campagne-Calavon Formation of France.
