Taxonomy
Lestes incertus was named by Piton (1935). Its type specimen is MNHN-LP-B.47285, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lac Chambon (Piton coll), which is in a Gelasian crater lake diatomite/volcaniclastic in France.
It was recombined as Sympecma incerta by Nel and Paicheler (1994).
