Eocaiman palaeocenicus

Taxonomy
Eocaiman palaeocenicus was named by Bona (2007). Its type specimen is MPEF-PV 1933, a mandible (Nearly complete left mandible and partial right mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is El Gauchito, which is in a Danian terrestrial horizon in the Salamanca Formation of Argentina.

Bona 2007It differs from E. cavernensis in having: a robust lower jaw; external and internal margins of the dentary anteriorly divergent between alveoli 4º and 12º in dorsal view, an external mandibular fenestra with a rounded posterior border and the angular lower than the surangular (posteriorly to the external mandibular fenestra in lateral view).
