Anoria was named by Walcott (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm mMid-l Cm uMid Sepkoski's reference number: 479]. It is not extant. Its type is Anoria tontoensis.

It was assigned to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002); to Dolichometopidae by Jell and Adrain (2002); and to Dolichometopidae by Foster (2022).
