Taxonomy
Paolia vetusta was named by Smith (1871). Its type specimen is HCM A72/51, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Braxton Quarry, near French Lick, which is in a Yeadonian estuary/bay siltstone in the Mansfield Formation of Indiana.
