Kaolishania was named by Sun (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran-u Sepkoski's reference number: 16,464]. It is not extant. Its type is Kaolishania pustulosa.
It was assigned to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Kaolishaniidae by Jell and Adrain (2002) and Wernette et al. (2020).
