Taxonomy
Elaterina liassica was named by Gardiner (1961). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is BMNH In 50351, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Lyme Regis, Lower Lias unspecified (BMNH), which is in a Sinemurian marine horizon in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Elaterina.
