Holcoptera schlotheimi

Taxonomy
Harpalus schlotheimi was named by Giebel (1856). Its type specimen is NHMUK I.10783, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Apperley, which is in a Rhaetian terrestrial horizon in the Lilstock Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Holcoptera.

It was recombined as Holcoelytrum schlotheimi by Zeuner (1962); it was recombined as Holcoptera schlotheimi by Handlirsch (1906), Cockerell (1915), Whalley (1985), Whalley (1986) and Kelly et al. (2017).
