Taxonomy
Ogygopsis was named by Walcott (1889) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tojo Cm mMid-u Sepkoski's reference number: 81,883]. Its type is Ogygia klotzi.

It was assigned to Ogygiocarinae by Walcott (1916); to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dorypygidae by Palmer and Halley (1979) and Jell and Adrain (2002).
