Taxonomy
Tomia dura was named by Aristov (2003). Its type specimen is PIN 2362/1, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Anakit-1 (PIN collection 2362), which is in a Changhsingian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Chichikan Formation of the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Chauliodites durus by Aristov (2004), Ansorge and Brauckmann (2008) and Aristov (2011).
