Taxonomy
Murchisonia acuminata was named by de Koninck (1883). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pauquys, which is in an Ivorian carbonate wackestone in the Waulsort Formation of Belgium.
It was recombined as Hypergonia acuminata by Longstaff (1926); it was recombined as Stegocoelia (Hypergonia) acuminata by Batten (1966).
