Taxonomy
Glycymeris canalis was named by Brown and Pilsbry (1911). Its type specimen is ANSP (no number), a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Glycymeris (Tucetona) pectinata canalis by Woodring (1973); it was recombined as Tucetona pectinata canalis by Hendy et al. (2008).
