Taxonomy
Triassurus sixtelae was named by Ivakhnenko (1978). Its type specimen is PIN 2584/10, a partial skeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Madygen, site 14, which is in a Ladinian/Carnian lacustrine shale in the Madygen Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Evans et al. (1988).
