cemented to the substrate over its entire length in early ontogeny, later becoming helically uncoiled with the tube growing upward. Umbilicus narrow. Septa present in early ontogeny. Tiny pores penetrating the tube are lacking. From other representatives of the genus Microconchus, the new species differs in its tube exterior ornamented with distinct transverse, sharp ridges passing without deflections and finer, longitudinal striae set in rows. |
