Taxonomy
Glabrocingulum (Glabrocingulum) mephitifontis was named by Gordon and Yochelson (1987). Its type specimen is USNM 210988, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 17012-PC. 500' north of Granite Mountain measured section, which is in a Chesterian marine shale/claystone in the Chainman Shale Formation of Utah.
