Taxonomy
Billingsites cordeyi was named by Monnet and Bucher (2005). Its type specimen is PIMUZ 25136 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Oliver Gulch HB 713, Augusta Mountains, which is in an Illyrian marine horizon in Nevada. It is the type species of Billingsites, Billingsites.
