Acidaspides was named by Lermontova (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm uMid Cm Fran Sepkoski's reference number: 459]. It is not extant. Its type is Acidaspides precurrens.

It was assigned to Odontopleuridae by Bruton (1983); to Odontopleurida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Lichakephalidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
