Taxonomy
Prothalassoceras bostocki was named by Nassichuk (1971). Its type specimen is GSC 25510 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 67669, Peel River, which is in a Sakmarian marine shale in the Jungle Creek Formation of Canada.
