Taxonomy
Paraschizodus rothi was named by Newell and Boyd (1975). Its type specimen is AMNH 27503/1:2, a valve (Left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Section 63, Block E2, Briscoe County, which is in a Changhsingian peritidal dolomite in the Quartermaster Formation of Texas.
