Taxonomy
Deltopecten latiformis was named by Shimer (1926). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Lake Minnewanka (Locality 14, Section 1), which is in a Cisuralian marine sandstone in Canada.
It was recombined as Limipecten latiformis by Newell (1938).
