It was corrected as Pecten carboniferus by Stevens (1858); it was recombined as Acanthopecten carboniferus by Newell (1938); it was corrected as Pecten carboniferum by Amerom et al. (1970); it was recombined as Acanthopecten carboniferous by Girty (1903), Morningstar (1922) and Hoare et al. (1978).
