Taxonomy
Heseneuma hammelburgensis was named by Brauckmann and Schlüter (1993). Its type specimen is SMTE 5825/2-10.1, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Herolds mountain, Strohgelbe Kalke, N Hammelburg, which is in a Bithynian marine limestone in the Röt Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Heseneuma.
