Asaphopsis intermedia was named by Harrington and Leanza (1957). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Argentinops intermedia by Pribyl and Vanek (1980); it was recombined as Hungioides intermedia by Fortey and Shergold (1984) and Jell and Adrain (2002).
