Taxonomy
Macrotheca almgreeni was named by Peel and Yochelson (1984). Its type specimen is MGUH 15084 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GGU 29652, Kap Stosch, which is in a Wuchiapingian carbonate limestone in the Wegener Halvo Formation of Greenland.
