Sphenosiagon simplex

Taxonomy
Sphenosiagon simplex was named by Gao and Fox (1991). Its type specimen is UALVP 29742, a mandible (a fragmentary left mandible having splenial firmly articulated with the dentary, and having eight posterior teeth and the base of the last dentary tooth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Irvine microvertebrate site, which is in a Judithian terrestrial horizon in the Dinosaur Park Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Sphenosiagon.
